Over the weekend the Bay Area singer and songwriter Kehlani was hanging out with her photographer friend on Instagram Live and said, “You wanna know whats new about me? I finally know I’m lesbian.”

Previously through a series of tweets Kehlani has identified as queer and bisexual. In 2018 she has stated and tweeted, “I’m attracted to women, men, REALLY attracted to queer men, non binary people, intersex people, trans people. lil poly pansexual papi hello good morning.”
Fans know she has been actively announcing and been open about her curiosity and interest in her sexuality. While until recently it may have been difficult to pinpoint, many believed she was lesbian. She has openly declared she has dated women and what her interests have been. She has also stated her use of pronouns. In an article with Diva, she states what her attractions are and her fluidity. She seems to have spent a long time discovering her likes and dislikes. And this is well known with the artist as she is a full supporter of gender and sexual equality.

In 2019 she publicly dated Compton rapper YG. And when cheating allegations surfaced surrounding YG the couple broke it off less than a year later. Later she went to become involved with PARTYNEXTDOOR and Kyrie Irving. In 2019 she gave birth to her daughter Adeya Nomi.
However, Kehlani decides to identify fans who tend to love her. She has allowed others to explore their own sexuality and gender and fans seem to support her decisions and choice.
