Donald Trump was accusing the Biden-Harris campaign of voter fraud but it’s no surprise that the pot was calling the kettle black.
The Washington Post obtained audio of an hour-long phone call of Trump demanding Georgia’s secretary of state Brad Raffensperger, to “find 11,780 votes” or enough that would’ve swung the state in his favor.
In the phone call, Trump acknowledges Biden’s victory even after states certified the results and courts rejected his claims but still tells Raffensperger that there’s “nothing wrong” with him “saying, you know, that you’ve recalculated.”
“Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong,” Raffensperger responded.
Trump was in denial that he lost Georgia and continued to allege voter fraud and spew conspiracy theories about the voting machine company, Dominion, removing evidence.
“No, Dominion has not moved any machinery out of Fulton County,” Ryan Germany, the general counsel for the Georgia secretary of state, tells Trump.
Trump suggested that the company moved “the inner parts of the machine and replaced them with other parts,” Germany tells him, “No.”
“You sure, Ryan?” Trump asks him. “I’m sure,” Germany adds.
At a point in the conversation, Donald Trump accuses the Georgia officials of committing a crime by “not reporting” the alleged voter fraud. “You know what they did, and you’re not reporting it,” Trump said on the call. “That’s a criminal, that’s a criminal offense, and you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. That’s a big risk.”
When the audio was released, Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump’s campaign, tweeted, “And the full recording will show that @GaSecofState is still a hack, @realDonaldTrump is spot-on in his criticisms of the terrible job Raffensperger did, all of the officials running Georgia’s elections are trash, and @POTUS won the state. #MAGA”
