Dave Chappelle dropped a surprise Netflix stand up special on Friday and he talked about an array of topics including George Floyd, Kobe Bryant’s death, Laura Ingraham, and more.

“It’s hard to figure out what to say about George Floyd, so I’m not going to say it yet,” Chappelle says as he flips open a notebook. “I got to tell you, this is like the first concert in North American since all this s— happened, so like it or not, it’s history. It’s going to be in the books.”

The special was recorded on June 6th in Yellow Springs, Ohio, in front of a live audience that who were practicing social distancing.

He dragged Candace Owens for criminalizing Floyd who died in police custody. “I seen Candace Owens try to convince white America, ‘Don’t worry about it. He’s a criminal anyway.’ I don’t give a f— what this n— did. I don’t care what this n— did. I don’t care if he personally kicked Candace Owens in her stanky p—. I don’t know if it stanks, but I imagine it does. If I ever find out, I’ll let you know for sure. I’ll tell like Azealia Banks. I’ll tell.”

Chappelle also spoke about the public’s desire for their favorite celebrities to speak out on the current social climate. It’s safe to say he spoke for most public figures when he said, “Do you want to see a celebrity right now? Do we give a f— what Ja Rule thinks? Does it matter about celebrity? No,” Chappelle said. “This is the streets talking for themselves. They don’t need me right now. I kept my mouth shut… but don’t think that my silence is complicit. Why would anyone care what their favorite comedian thinks after they saw a police officer kneel on a man’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds?”

He playfully added that Azalea Banks “told it all,” referencing her viral video about the comedian giving her some “good dick.”

Dave Chappelle’s surprise special was symbolic because the duration of it was the same amount of time former Minnesota officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on George Floyd’s neck, hence the title.
