Police identified Gabriel Casso, 21, as the victim involved in the Concourse Village Saturday afternoon.
Gabriel Casso, also known as “Gee Six” was shot and killed by police officers when he was running away from the two gunmen in broad daylight. The gunmen were identified as 22-year-old Kejaun Dehaney and 32-year-old Hassan Maxwell.
The officers involved were making routine rounds when reports were made and they themselves heard the gunshots and saw the two men with their firearms. The three officers instantly jumped into action when arriving at the scene. Upon arrival and action, the gunmen and the three officers fired back and forth to each other until one was wounded. The gunmen then tossed their firearms and they were taken into custody.
The gunmen struck around 6:20 pm wounding one person, a bystander, and there is no known motive. One was a bystander in his 50’s who was shot in the torso but taken into surgery after the event and the gunmen were detained. The officers shot at the two men injuring one in the left arm and another hitting Casso. All three victims were taken to the Lincoln Hospital. The bystander was put in critical condition, the gunmen recovered, and Casso was declared dead upon arrival.
Both gunmen were arrested and charged with murder. The firearms were also recovered after they were tossed aside as an attempt to hide them.
